After a summer of fun with the Lotus, I decided to organise an autumn event for local Lotus owners. An early Sunday morning with some breakfast at the fabulous 57 Bridgestreet in USK.
Lotus Exige distortions
The Interweb is a creative place and I have seen all sorts of automotive art and image processing. Some of my favourites are the squashed mini motor cars and the optical illusion of one-wheel cars. I have always been handy with Photoshop and attempted a few of my own creations with BondExige. These images stimulate a lot of comments on Facebook and Instagram mostly positive as they are just meant as a bit of fun.
Lotus Exige MiniMoto
This was my first attempt and I used a photo taken on the helipad of the Celtic Manor Resort 2010 Ryder Cup golf course. Squashing the central section is not that difficult, it is more the distortion of the scenery behind the car that needed resolution.
Four door Lotus Exige Sport
This spoof was meant to generate some comments about Lotus future and how a 4 door car might be received. I don’t think a 4 door saloon would ever happen, but Lotus will almost certainly develop an SUV much like the Aston Martin DBX. I was surprised as how much people opposed the idea of a 4 door Lotus even though this was just a parody. Lotus, you have been warned!
Unixige, one-wheel Exige Sport
Finally, the bazaar looking Unixige, which I thought might be impossible before I started. It too a lot of work to get right and this was the third photo of the Exige I had used as the first two just didn’t quite work. You are trying to get a completely central side position with as little perspective as possible. The sculpted shape of the Exige actually helps as you can blend curves into one another to make the object look solid.
